Work permit classes table (2024)

The classes of permits for works as of August 12, 2022 have undergone an update of values defined by ordinance No. 212/2022, of August 23.

With this amendment, the government intends to increase competitiveness, support the economy and companies in the construction sector. Ordinance 119/2012, of 30 April, is thus revoked.

Depending on the value of the works to be carried out, the company must have the appropriate construction permit. Qualification classes 1 and 2 now have a maximum work value of more than 30,000 euros than was allowed, thus settling at 200,000 euros and 400,000 euros respectively.

These new values are especially beneficial for smaller companies, which therefore do not need to obtain a higher class license, which is thus adapted to the increase in material costs, among others.
